Hi Doug and Charles,
I want to thank you again for the "Red Carpet Traetment" for just a few hours of fun Under the Stars with Shane, Noel, your fellow AA Archivist and myself. Movie Nite in the Summer time is very nice in Riverside.
Looking forward to seeing you again and will be in touch about bringing DOC and his Russian Chip made out of wood.

Re chips, I have heard and seen chips made of i think clay with the AA symbol on it. Are these real chips that were used, or just being passed off as old chips?

Reply: Dawn, they are clay chips used for gambling and have been around since about 1910, 25 years before AA was born. If you are seeing them at meetings, these are just another something different to give out for anniversaries.
If they are being passed off as early AA chips, someone is "embellishing" the truth a bit.

My 30th annivery was on JULY 5th and I received many Happy anniversay wishes. I was so excited. However they went to spam and when I clicked on this is not spam the mail disappeared. The others I figured out a way to keep. I felt so bad I didn't get to open them and thank the senders personally. Is there anywhere on this site I can write something to thank the senders I didn't get to open. There were quite a few and I feel so bad. Thank you. Stephanie PS I am only 48. Not an old old lady some may think given the time. :o)

I have been told that Bill wrote Chapter 8 in the BB and Lois objected to it being printed. Is this true?

Reply: Yes Bill wrote chapter 3. Lois wished he would have asked her to write it but she didn't object to it being printed.

A friend and I are looking for a particular passage in the Big Book (or 12x12?) that refers to: "hopeless variety" -- any clues as to where this might be? We've certainly increased our reading of the Big Book the last few days to find it, but no luck so far.

Reply: Rhonda, your email bounced back to us...so if you read this, try looking in the "Dr's Opinion".
