What was the persons name thats most responsable for the phrase God as you understand Him. thank you.

Reply: Bill would give credit to Jimmy B.
Jimmy was from New York and founded the first meetings in Baltimore and Philly and later lived and died with his wife Rosa in San Diego, California.
He got sober in January 1938, slipped in June 38 and came back in June of 38 never to drink again.
His story was in the big book titled "The Vicious Cycle".

Is there any record of people that are sentenced to AA remaining sober ?

Reply: Since there is no one tracking these events, and no way to verify it, the answer would have to be "no".

My birthday/anniversary greeting was the coolest thing!! How amazing that I belong to a group so big, and so wonderful that you would go to that trouble just to wish me a happy anniversary. Even tho I'm going to be 13, God willing and I don't drink or die before next week, I still cry like when I first got sober. Yet now the tears are tears of gratitude and you gave me that feeling once again this morning. You are awesome and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me. What an awesome deal!!

Did Roland Hazard die sober or drunk? Some articles say he was sober, some say he was drunk. I think because he so young, it is thought he died drunk.

Reply: Darrel, What articles are you seeing? He also wasn't that young. What are your sources and I can follow up for you. I would answer you in an email with all the info I have, but you left 5 questions and used 5 bogus email addresses.

Someone told me that there was a time in AA that a membership card was necessary in order to attend some meetings. Any truth to this? Thanks

Reply: No. It is not true. Although some groups might have tried it before, I would suggest that they were pretty "loose" groups. My opinion only. Since anyone can be a member if they say they are, who would have the authority to issue your card?
