hello my friends,
Can you help me,(luxury problem) I'm trying to find a meeting location or contact in the Egyptian Red sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh, I've tried all the normal lines of reference but cannot find any confirmation of a current AA meeting. I know it's way off your map but there might be an odd chance that you can help. Fellowship regards Richard O. (April,3.1995)

Reply: There is an English speaking group in Sharm El Sheikh. They meet Sunday and Wednesday at 11:00AM at The Marriott Bakery and Cafe on Airport Road in Sharm.

Since I signed up where I live has changed and I am being stressed out by receiving too much email. I appreciate all the emails sent to me on my anniversary, October 1 but I would like to remove my name. How do I do that?

Reply: You just did...you have been deleted from the web site. Thanks.

Where in the literature does it say 'do the next right thing' ?

Reply: You wont find it, it's not there, BUT:
See the first full paragraph on page 87 in the big book where you will find where it came from.
Let us know what you think.

Where and why are the 5 slogans coce to be,IE Think Think Think, and the other 4 slogans.

Reply: Three slogans are in the big book, at the end of chapter nine. But for the Grace of God;(there go I) from the Bible. And Think, Think, Think came from an early AA member who had them printed on cards and passed them around the AA office in the early 1940's.

Your website includes the comment: "call a drunk to celebrate". I am a recovering alcoholic and a FORMER drunk (one can easily discern someone who is a drunk by observing or smelling him/her). I have no plans to call a drunk. Sandy

Reply: Sandy, I know people that dont like to be called alcoholics either. The saying is "tongue in cheek" to mean share the moment with others. Thanks for weighing in on the subject.

I'm looking for a citation for the "rule of 62". I found it on the AA site once, didn't bookmark the spot, now can't find it. Your site came up on "Google" but I can't find it here either. (I'm writing a friend an email, and as a retired librarian :} I like to include citations.) Do you know where I can find the story?

Reply: Take a look at the last page of the 4th Tradition in your 12 and 12.

how many times is god mentioned in 1st 164 pages

Reply: By my count, 127 times if you count God given and God's.
There are also two more times in the roman numerals, but that is not considered the 1st 164 pages. (1-164)

I am trying to find the dates when AA changed names. How many times has the name changed and the dates it was changed? Other members and myself have tried to find this information with no success. Please help. Shuffeltown Group of AA Lorri. Thank you

Reply: No wonder you are having so much trouble finding out when AA changed it's name.
AA (the intials of Alcoholics Anonymous) has never changed it's name.
The different publishing companies have changed their names, bu that would be a different question. Works Publishing, The Alcoholic Foundation, Works Publishing Inc, The Grapevine, The AA Grapevine, Box 1980, Box 495.
