I didn't know of Bill nor all his contributions. But I appreciate your sharing him w/us for all those years. It's important to remember where we came from, and who makes up our history. My condolences on your loss. Lynn, DOS 10/22/79; I got sober in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Bill will be rememberd and missed. It was only the other week while I was at Wilson House visiting I asked if anyone had heard from Bill. I guess he was weighing on my mind and heart and I just wanted to reach out and once again, connect with him.

As a member of the AA history community, Bill was instrumental in working with other authors, historians and archivists in bringing out AA's history to the world. We've shared the podium together, spoken on the phone and in person and collaborated on a few things over the years. I treasure having known him and will be grateful always for being a part of my sobriety journey. Thank you Bill for who you are and all you've done. God bless...

I met Bill at Dr Bob's house in Akron, Ohio in 1993. I was actually looking for Charlie Bishop and he dialed Charlie up on his cell phone and handed it to me! He was the only man there, that hot summer day, wearing a three piece suit.
I love his 12 Step Prayer book. In his books, I have found, that he tells it like it is, not how he would like you to believe it. No spin, just the words for you to read and interpret as you see fit. That is a good historian in my opinion. Thanks Bill, you'll be the main speaker tonight and Joe McQ gets to sit down and rest.
