I spent time every day with Charlie and Joe for the first several years of my sobriety. They helped me grasp the true meaning of surrender, grace and service. I was honored to enjoy celebrating Charlie's 40th Bday in SW City. I still have a picture of the sunset I took that evening on my way up as I crossed Lake Eucha. It was a magnificent sunset that I had intended to send to Charlie. If you would like me to send it let me know. Through his teachings he was a true Sponsor to more people than most realize. I know his tapes became the foundation of my sobriety 23 years ago. He provided me a clear pathway into serenity and grace for me to learn acceptance and ultimately possess the courage and wisdom that has made a difference. Just got hold of an iPhone app and have listened to Joe and Charlie explain in so much clarity the 12 steps. I have just finished step 11 and in conjunction with this series on my iPhone, I feel my life has changed and I have truly discovered God in my life again. Charlie I met you in 1989 in Gravett AR. Then heard you and Joe at Springtime in the Ozarks. Wayne was and is a close friend and I heard many stories of you and him.
