My sobriety date is 10/08/1986. I got sober in Jacksonville, AR while in the Air Force. My sponsor took me to see Joe and Charlie at Wolf Street. It is one of the greatest experiences in my recovery. I have shared it often with many in meetings. Listening to the Big Book Study is part of my sponsorship program today. Charlie will continue to 12 step others through me and the Big Book Study until it is time for me to be with him and Joe in the fellowship of the spirit. God bless.

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your loss. Charlie was an awesome man. I never met him but feel I know him from listening to the "Joe and Charlie tapes". I'm 18 years sober and early in my soberity my sponsor got me the tapes.
They helped me to learn how AA works and how to truly work the program. Later when I started sponsoring people I used the tapes to carry my sponees through the steps. His work is invalueable to me. I am so grateful for Charlie.

Thank You, Brian R.

I cannot imagine how anyone else could have ever affected the lives of so many ...

I would have died if I had not heard Charlie P. & Joe McQ., and I have been a student of "Alcoholics Anonymous", the book, ever since.

Charlie (And Joe) meant the world to me ever since I first attended Big Book Seminar here in Sacramento in 1991, where I met the lady that was to become my wife! I last saw Charlie at the end of the last Big Book Seminar here, and as he was leaving, he just told me "I'll see ya down the road"! He certainly carried the message of recovery to me and countless others here in Sacramento!

I am so sorry for your loss. Yet, I believe that Charlie is back together w/Joe McQ & going to be able to help intercede some for us still here trying to get across - how important it is - to give the message of the BB- I am just an al-anon, BUT my life has been saved from total ruin by accepting & starting to put into practice the principles that Charlie & Joe spoke about. May God bless you all, his family.
