Thank you Charlie - you and Joe have helped me through some hard times and seen me through some confusing ones. You wisdom, sense of humour and the sound of your voice has inspired me and made me laugh. God Bless you Charlie and God Bless your family.

Charlie did a great service in carrying the message to so many. There are a great many Alcoholics with limited reading abilities and I can assure you that having the recorded tapes available has helped many thousands. I was one of the fortunate members who attended a work session of the Bib Book Study in the early 80's. I was fascinated and for the first time thought of the Big Book as a text book to be studied. Thanks to Charlie and Joe.

I had the privilege of meeting Charlie in Sacramento in 1999. It was wonderful to meet the 'legend' and find he was just a simple man with a simple but compelling message. One thing I noticed was that he was not a big man in stature. I said to him, "Charlie, I've heard you on the tapes and imagined you to be a big man. He said to me, "Well, I guess that's because I carry a big message." I'm so grateful for that big message and want to express how grateful I am and how important that message has been in my life and now in the lives of others I have been privileged to help. Thank you Charlie. Thank God.

Dear Family of Charlie P,

I have learned more from 'Joe and Charlie' about The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, than all other combined resourses. They have been like my AA Grandfathers, and continue, through their combined experience strength and hope, to give me inspiration in my own recovery, as well as passing on The Message of Alcoholics Anonymous, to the newcomers.

Sincerely, Pete B.

From 1992 in Glasgow, Charlie took me aside and explained the meaning of "We are NOT Saints" and to look within for Him re Spiritual Growth ... those words and his manner will remain with me while I live ... RIP Charlie.

Joe & Charlie came to Houma in my first year of sobriety and I was a CO Chair for the fundraisers to pay for their expenses. They got me into the BB right away and here, 28 years later I am still sober. I just finished leading a group of AA's thru their original tapes the first of this year. What a messenger Charlie was. He will be missed.

I first heard Charlie's voice on the Joe & Charlie 4th Step workshop online, which I was listening to at the recommendation of my OA sponsor. I was three years into recovery from compulsive overeating. I had put off the 4th step too long out of fear, and I was desperate to finish it.
Listening to Joe & Charlie, I was able to lighten up, laugh at myself and get through my inventory without too much drama. I now recommend Joe & Charlie to all my sponsees, and so far no one has failed to appreciate their wit and wisdom. Thank you so much for supporting his work in AA. It meant a lot to this recovered compulsive overeater.
