To Joe's loved ones.
My name is Bobby. I'm 33 years old and I've been an alcoholic for the past 12 years. I've had a very hard time committing to the positive life change i so dearly need. on a whim I downloaded the 'Joe and Charlie' tape series. Joe's pleasant demeanor and his stories really hit me in the heart in ways I can't explain in written words. He and Charley are with out a doubt my saving grace! On the worst of worst days, when I feel that sickness in my soul, all I have to do is revisit they're audio tapes and it really helps me! When my time comes i'll be able to thank Joe myself, but with his guidance that will most definitely be later than sooner. I wish you all the best. Bobby.

I saw Joe and Charlie at a BB seminar in Florida when I first got sober back in 1992. I just found out about Joes passing, my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He left a huge impact on many many recovering alcoholics, helped so many people. I feel honored to have seen him back in 1992. God Bless

Joe McQ was an inspiration to all, but speaking for myself, he was a miricle. His instruction on the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous are what led me to believe that there was hope for me. I have been sober for eighteen weeks this time, but I pattern my life and my days off of some of the suggestions I learned from Mr. McQ when I was in a treatment facility over two years ago. I just found out he passed away about thirty minutes ago, and I went and picked up my Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, and ran my fingers over the words Joe McQ...that he wrote when my treatment facility leader took my Big Book to Little Rock and asked if he would sign it for me. He did, and I will cherish it forever. I never met him personally, but I thank God for him today. I thank God for being sober today, and thank Him for allowing Joe McQ to be a part of my sobriety, as well. God bless. Leah O, De Queen Arkansas.

I have 27 years of sobriety, but just discovered,"The Steps We Took" in the last week! Reading it has already improved the quality of my sobriety. I have ready Chuck C's book, "New Pair Glasses" four times and I expect the same will be true for Joe's book. I am thankful and grateful Joe took the time to put his wisdom into a book.

I loved Joe, and know that he will be missed. I was raised on Joe and Charlies Tapes. I got sober in LR, AR in 1994. I was a member of Joes home group. He was a mess, but a good mess.

My sobriety date is June 19th, 1996. I never knew Joe however, I remember early on that my Sponsor gave me the tapes from Joe and Charlie. Never saw any pictures till today. Wanted you to know that he made a difference in my life. What a blessing he was and his work still is. Again, THANKS
