My first Big Book Seminar with Joe and Charlie was in May of 1993 - I was already sober 5 years but this changed my whole life in the program. I fell in love with the book, which I had not really read to that point and began to get active in all of the program - not just my little corner of it.
I got to see Joe again in 1996 and was as mesmorized as I had been the first time. Thank you Joe for your contribution to my sobriety and life. You meant more than just a three day seminar - you changed a life.

I visted Serenity Park last year as a patient from London UK I spent alot of time with Joe and he took me to a few restrauants one was the Butchers Shop I think??? Rob was my counseller and I also spent alot of time with Larry I came to your house a couple of times to pick up Joe on our outings, like alot of people I loved Joe and at night I listen to him on the Big Book Studie cd's by my bed. I promised to speak of his work in London and while I have struggled since leaving the park I promise to continue to share his message at aa meetings and I send you all my love.

Because of the work that Joe did with Charlie I am able to have a lot better life in my sobriety. They helped me see that I didnt have to make everything so hard. Thank you for helping him to help save thousands if not millions of drunks

I "met" Joe only through a tape of one of his talks with Charlie about the Big Book. Besides invaluable help in exploring and engaging that book and the program it lays out, I felt as though listening to those tapes I also received the gift of being in the presence of two warm, wise souls. I am glad Joe walked this earth. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I met Joe for the first time at the 20th anniversary Big Book Study in Lawton, Oklahoma. A couple years ago I met him again at the Winter Holiday convetion in Joplin, Mo. I have listened to him on at least ten different study tapes and read both of his books. My impression-he is the real deal. He is one of the winners. I feel Blessed to have been influenced by him. I am grateful to his family for sharing him with me and others. My thoughts, prayers and best wishes go out to all who were close to him and especially the McQuanny family.
