As a newcomer Joe and Charlie helped open the door to my recovery. Today, 25 years later they have provided a place for me to return to remain passionate about this beautiful program. Thank you to Joe's family for sharing him with us.

To Joe's Family, I am so sorry for your loss, please accept my heartfelt sympathy. AA has suffered a great loss also. I never had the honor of meeting Joe in person, but I like to think I knew him somewhat through reading his books & listening to his & Charlie's tapes, his love for the Big Book, the AA Program & Fellowship. He helped so many of us by sharing his ESH. He was an asset to AA & he will be greatly missed. He has left a wonderful legacy behind & will be remembered with love & gratitude for his service to AA. Peace & Blessings, Stormy

In life, most of us never get to doing the good for others that we wish we had done. Joe did more for people than anyone I know and he probably didnt even know it himself. He was just carrying the message and he will be deeply missed

I went to the Big Book study in 1989, when I was 19 years sober. I was astounded at how easy it could have been if I had done it that way from the first. I went home and did some work and amazingly I got comfortable. Thank you Joe (and Charlie) You made a difference.

My condolences to family & friends. I have attended a study session of the "Big Book" based on the "Joe & Charlie" tapes and it has certainly enhanced my sobriety. Please find peace in knowing he has helped (directly and indirectly) thousands of alcoholics understand the simple program.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Along with countless others, Joe and Charlie changed my life. It was the first time that the the program of AA was "explained" to me. They helped me make sense of it all. But the best part was that I could take their tapes and listen to them over and over again. I can't tell you how many countless times, when the chips were down that I remembered something I heard on those tapes. God bless Joe McQ and all the selfless service he gave freely.

Rarely do the teachings of one person change the lives of millions. Joe joined that exclusive group. I am one of those that received the blessings of his teachings. Although physically gone, those teachings will continue to bless those yet to come.

Many thanks for the work you all have done to keep AA on the right side of the tracks. Joe was an insperation, a classic example of AA and what it takes to turn your life around. He wont be forgotten, the legacy lives on, Thanks to Joe and others like him, he has won the battle and is no doubt smiling down from heaven at the wonder of it all. Amen
