I was on my motorcycle headed to Little Rock. I put a tape in and it stated out my name is Joe and I am from Little Rock Ak. I knew right then I would meet this guy. Meet him I did and went to his meeting we were on the 12th step and he said in order to understand the 12th let's recap the first 11. It was an amazing meeting and I especially liked the fact he signed the papers for people that were sent to the meeting by the courts after the meeting. I helped him install a washer and dryer at Serenity House. You see he had these well not so good tools and I had all Craftsman, I was so blessed to meet this man in my AA recovery. God bless you Joe and enjoy the meeting you are about to have with Chauncey C. and Basil B. and so many other great men like yourself. I don't remember the year yet I remember the man named Joe. Thanks, Henry C. L.D. 8-28-76

Joe and Charlie's efforts to spread the message have been instrumental in my own sobriety. May God bless him and his family.

I have Joe and Charlie's Big Book workshops on CDs, and they have been a big part of my sobriety for the past seven years. I share with my own sponsees all the wonderful things Joe has shared with me and so many other recovering alcoholics. I am sure he is in the welcoming arms of the God of his understanding as I write this, and I offer my sincerest condolences to both his immediate family and the extended family he, and all of us, have in AA.

I don't have much to say other than my condolences to his family and that you should feel very proud. This man has helped people that he doesn't even know.

I am sad to hear of his passing. So many of the good ones seem to be leaving us. The only way I know how to honour his life is to keep passing it along. My prayers go out to the family.

I listened to your Melbourne tapes back in April of 1993 and it got me to seriously working the steps. Thank you Joe, you've helped me in my recovery (as I suppose thousands of others) and Thank You God for giving us Joe.

May Gods promise of Eternal Life help you find comfort during this time. Think of the joy we'll have on that day when we are all together just past Heaven's gate.

My first intro to Joe was in my 9th year of sobriety. Next month I will turn 24 years sober. He was a big part ( also Charlie ) of my recovery.
